It has always been our aim to produce high quality products at competitive prices dealing direct to ensure each project runs smoothly.
Our design team offers 3D computer designs, illuminance plots and L2A compliance certificates where applicable. All this is designed to help the project run smoothly from design stage to handover/completion.
All our luminaires are photometrically, electrically and thermally tested by BSI and all our luminaires without exception comply to BS 4533 and all European standards. Every sub-component used within our products come from either an ISO 9001 approved supplier or in unusual cases an individually approved supplier. Every component used must carry the relevant VDE/IC approved stamp.
Southgate Lighting are somewhat unique in this area as we offer to the contractor/end user three distinctive benefits.
By using AutoCAD we can produce accurate scale plots to aid in lighting design layout throughout buildings, whilst accurately calculating quantities of lights and controls.
The design team use Relux Pro to accurately produce 3D buildings and calculate the predicted lighting outputs using illuminance plots. With Relux Pro we can also produce 3D animations to give an accurate view of the building and lighting when completed.
Our team of engineers are committed to ensure the project runs smoothly, efficiently and finishes in accordance with the design and specification issued.
A dedicated commissioning engineer will be assigned to the project and will visit site to run through any wiring issues, containment, plug and play systems and generally how all the lighting should be installed. This is done with the electrical contractor before the installation starts.
During installation our engineers will be available on site to discuss possible changes, client alterations and to ensure that all controls are connected in accordance with the specification . This involves general walk-around’s with the electrical contractor as well as site meetings if required. Our original design engineers can also attend meetings to discuss alterations, lighting levels etc.
When the project is near completion our engineers will be on site to commission the lighting in accordance with the original specification. Once this is completed a commission certificate will be issued.
